Toller Cranston Inspires School Children with Mural Work

Witness a genius at work. From the Aurora Bridge, across from the art center Fabrica La Aurora, you can see the art activities begin on the blank walls at Escuela Ignacio Allende. Well know international artist and resident of San Miguel, Toller Cranston, will weave his magic with 40 school children and inspire them to create four mural arts for posterity. You are welcome to witness the historic process from the bridge.

The event is part of the Children’s Art Foundation’s Art and Literacy program, seeking to inspire school children age 6 to 12, to discover their innate talent and reach their full potential through Art. It seeks to provide a creative way to enhance the literacy of children. Their words and their imagination find life on paper, canvases and schools murals. The Foundation inspires our youth. It puts brushes and pencils, paper and paints into the hands of children, so their hopes and dreams can find voice.  It also takes art and artists some of Mexico’s very best to the schools and villages all around San Miguel so children can observe the creative process and bring it into their lives. And, it holds exhibits of the work of these children at the Bellas Artes, one of the most prominent art institutions in Mexico, for their work to be noticed at the most creative moment in their lives.  We hope you will enjoy the creative event and support the work of The Children’s Art Foundation.
